Our Delzani Dog Coat  Size Guide.

Ensuring the right fit for your dog’s coat is essential for both their comfort and the coat’s durability. Our dog coats are available in 5cm size increments, ranging from 25cm to 75cm. To find the perfect fit, it’s important to check all three measurements we provide. Relying on just one measurement may result in a less-than-ideal fit.

How to Measure Your Dog for a Delzani Coat:

1. **Back Length (Measurement "A")**: Use a tape measure to measure from the base of your dog's neck (behind the collar area) to where you want the coat to end. This measurement is crucial as our coat sizes are based on this dimension. Ensure your dog is standing still for an accurate measurement. If your dog tends to wiggle, use a piece of string or rope and then measure it.

2. **Chest Girth (Measurement "C")**: Measure from the middle of your dog's chest, around the shoulder, to the point where the coat should end (base of the tail). This helps ensure the coat fits comfortably around the chest and belly.

3. **Drop Measurement (Measurement "B")**: Check the drop of the coat by measuring from the middle of your dog’s back down over the ribs. This will help you determine if the coat will be too short or too long, especially important for shorter dogs.

By using these three measurements, you can determine the most suitable size for your dog’s jacket. Since dogs come in various shapes and sizes, such as long-legged and slender or short-legged and stocky, you might need to choose a size that balances these proportions for the best fit. If the "A" measurement is correct but the drop "B" is too long (e.g., for dogs with shorter legs), you may need to opt for a coat with a shorter "A" measurement.

For dogs that fall between sizes, we recommend selecting the smaller size. A coat that is slightly too small in the "A" measurement will generally fit better than one that is too large. A bigger coat in the "A" measurement may shift and cause discomfort. Many owners tend to choose a coat that's too large, but a snug fit is usually more effective and comfortable for your dog.

For dogs with unique shapes, such as Dachshunds or those with unusual proportions, you may need a custom-made coat. Check our detailed sizing guide and measurements to find the best fit for your dog’s needs.

Refer to the table below for a measurement guide. "A" Refers the approx length of the coat along top edge,. "B" refers to the drop of the coat, "C" is the measurement along the bottom edge of the dog coat.
