Finding the Perfect Fit for Your Ride

Wearing properly fitted breeches or tights isn’t just about comfort—it’s key to performing your best and enjoying every moment in the saddle. Delzani makes it simple to find your ideal size with easy-to-use guides tailored to both woven breeches and knitted riding tights.

Why Sizing Matters for Woven Breeches

Woven breeches, like ours, feature tightly interlaced threads that create a structured and durable fit (think stretch jeans with a performance upgrade). This design ensures a classic, tailored look but offers less stretch compared to knitted fabrics. For woven breeches, choosing the right size is essential for both comfort and performance. If you’re between sizes, we always recommend sizing up for a better fit and ease of movement.

Delzani’s Sizing Approach

We’ve designed our woven breeches with consistent measurements across all styles, so your size in one pair will match across the range. However, due to sizing inconsistencies across brands, we encourage using our size chart as your best reference.

If you are an in-between size or at the top end of your size, we always suggest going up a size for better fit and comfort.

How to Measure for Woven Breeches

Properly measuring for woven breeches ensures a structured, tailored fit that looks and feels amazing in the saddle. Follow these steps to find your ideal size:

STEP 1. Choose a Well-Fitting Pair

• Select a pair of woven breeches (not tights!) that fits you comfortably. Woven fabrics have a structured design and do not stretch the same way as knitted tights, so it’s crucial to measure woven breeches to get the most accurate fit.

• Lay the breeches flat on a smooth surface, such as a table or the floor, ensuring there are no wrinkles that might distort your measurements.

STEP 2. Measure the Waist (Measurement A)

• With the breeches lying flat, locate the waistband.

• Use a measuring tape to measure straight across the waistband from one side to the other.

• Record this number as Measurement A. This represents the waist width of the breeches.

STEP 3. Measure the Hips (Measurement B)

• Find the widest point of the breeches, typically a few inches below the waistband.

• Measure straight across this point and record the measurement as Measurement B. This is the hip width, essential for a comfortable fit.

STEP 4. Cross-Reference Your Measurements with Our Size Chart

• Use the measurements you’ve recorded to locate your size on our woven breeches size chart.

• If you find yourself between sizes or at the upper end of a size, we recommend going up a size for comfort and ease of movement.

IMPORTANT: SIZE GUIDE FOR WOVEN BREECHES ONLY NOT KNITTED TIGHTS THAT LOOK LIKE BREECHES

Sizing information is provided by the manufacturer and does not guarantee a perfect fit - no two bodies are the same. If you are in between sizes on our size chart, we always recommend going up a size with breeches, rather than going down.

Important Reminder: Don’t Use Tights for Breeches Sizing

Woven breeches and knitted tights have different fit profiles. Tights stretch and conform to your body, while breeches offer a more structured fit. Using breeches to measure for tights sizing can result in a too-loose or ill-fitting pair. Always use a pair of woven breeches to ensure accurate results.

If you have any questions - just drop us an email with your 'A' and 'B' measurements (and height).

How to Measure for Riding Tights (Knitted Fabric)

Knitted riding tights are known for their stretch, comfort, and flexibility, making them a go-to choice for riders seeking a modern, athletic feel. Properly measuring ensures you get the perfect fit for your next ride. Follow these steps for accurate sizing:

STEP 1. Pick a Stretchy Pair

• Select a pair of knitted riding tights that currently fits you well. These tights should feel comfortable and not overly tight or loose.

• Remember, do not use woven breeches to find your tights size. Woven fabrics are structured and do not stretch like knitted tights, leading to inaccurate measurements.

• Lay the tights flat on a smooth surface, such as a table or the floor, ensuring there are no wrinkles.

STEP 2. Measure the Waist (Measurement A)

• Locate the waistband of the tights.

• Use a measuring tape to measure straight across the waistband from one side to the other. This will give you the waist width.

• Record this number as Measurement A.

STEP 3. Measure the Hips (Measurement B)

• Find the widest part of the tights, usually around the hip area.

• Measure straight across at this point and record it as Measurement B. This ensures a snug yet comfortable fit at the hips.

STEP 4. Check the Tights Size Chart

• Cross-reference your recorded A and B measurements with our riding tights size chart. This chart is specifically designed for the stretch and flexibility of knitted fabric, ensuring an accurate fit.

• If you find yourself between sizes or near the upper end of a size range, we recommend sizing up for comfort and ease of movement.
